Oxygen-15 (2020)

Commissioned by the Amorsima Trio

Oxygen-15 is a naturally occurring radioactive isotope that occurs alongside gamma rays and Nitrogen-13 during a lightning strike. Oxygen-15 is also used in medicine for PET imaging and brain imaging and has a half-life 0f 122.24 seconds. Oxygen-15 decays into Nitrogen-15, emitting a positron.
 
Oxygen-15 (2020) was commissioned by violinist Mia Detwiler, violist Michael Capone, and cellist Kourtney Newton of the Amorsima Trio.
