​GESTALT (2018)

​GESTALT (2018) was conceived to be performable by any reed instrument with MIDI controller, Foot Switch (optional), tablet, and computer. There are six Gestalt laws of grouping that are used in graphic design; Proximity, Similarity, Closure, Continuation, Common Fate, and Figure and Ground. Each describes a psychological phenomenon that occurs that causes us to recognize patterns and forms of organization. GESTALT uses these design phenomena to create a sonic space in which the laws of grouping are applied and broken to create an illusion of Gestalt Laws of Auditory Grouping.
