that Song This (2026) along with the violin duet the Never (2026), and unaccompanied flute solo is Ends (2026) were inspired by my sister’s ritual of singing “The Song That Doesn’t End” from Lamb Chop’s Play-Along 1992 televised puppet show on PBS to my niece at her bedtime. Each of the three (3) pieces of this cycle are intended to be performed in a way so that they can be organized in any order, and with endless repetition, in an attempt to mimic the endless and looping nature of this bedtime song.
