Hymn (2020)

Written for percussionist Ethan Pinckert

​Hymn (2020) is comprised of four individual hymn melodies to be performed on the vibraphone simultaneously. Each hymn is assigned some part of the instrument; one for the keyboard, one for the resonator, one for the brushes, and one for the mallets. The hymns overlap and interact in ways so that a note played on the keyboard could belong to more than one hymn in the same instance.
